Yes and No. EncodeMyFiles MUST be installed on an PC in order to Encode/Decode a file. However, you only need to purchase EncodeMyFiles to ENCODE the files. Decoding does not require purchasing.
Absolutely, if you have EncodeMyFiles installed on both devices.
EncodeMyFiles is licensed per PC. It must be activated before you will be able to ENCODE a file. Once activated it cannot be activated again without contacting our support department. You are allowed to activate the software on two machines. DECODING does not require activation.
Yes. EncodeMyFiles can ENCODE any file.
No. However, you must have enough free storage space to allow for the ENCODING/DECODING of the file. A good rule of thumb is there should be at least 150% more space available than the size of the original unencoded file. ENCODED files do not take up 150% more space than the original file but it’s just a good way to judge whether you have sufficient space to ENCODE the file.
No. There are no backdoors to the software and the encoding key is not stored anywhere. If you lose the encoding key the file(s) cannot be recovered. “Remembering” is never a suitable way to deal with passwords. Always store passwords in a secure place.
Yes. You can encode files or entire folders.
Once you purchase the software the ACTIVATION KEY will be sent to you via email.

Once your order has been processed, you should receive an email with a download link (if you haven’t already downloaded it) and an ACTIVATION Code within a minute or two. Please make sure there are no spam blocks blocking our email. Please check your SPAM folder to make sure the email did not end up there. However, if you are still having issues receiving the ACTIVATION code you can always contact our support department from our support page and we will be glad to make sure your issue is resolved.
The activation code allows for 2 activations, one for a desktop and one for a laptop.
